IGMH celebrates World Prematurity Day with a children’s evening

Indhira Gandhi Memorial hospital (IGMH) held a children’s evening to celebrate World Prematurity Day.

IGMH released a press briefing which stated that this event was held today at IGMH, and is part of the different activities IGMH organizes each year to celebrate this day.

World Prematurity Day is marked on November 17th of every year. World Prematurity Day is an opportunity to call attention to the heavy burden of death and disability and the pain and suffering that preterm birth causes. It is also a chance to talk about solutions. The theme for World Prematurity Day 2019 is “Born Too Soon: Providing the right care, at the right time, in the right place.”

The IGMH news briefing also declared that the pediatrics Department of IGMH has organized sessions in collaboration with Health Protection Agency (HPA) and National Health Agency (NHA) for doctors and Nurses around Male Region to increase awareness about Premature babies. These sessions are to be held from the 14th to 17th of this month.

The closing ceremony of these sessions will be held on the 17th of November. Special guests are expected to be present at this ceremony, such as Representative of UNICEF Mr. Munir A. Safieldin and Representative from World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Arvind Mathur and senior pediatricians from IGMH who will give address the attendees.
