The eye camp that was organized by Hulhumale’ Hospital and China’s Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, has concluded yesterday.
The camp was held between 7-11 January 2020 in Hulhumale’. A media official from Hulhumale’ Hospital stated that 571 patients were screened, and 75 eye surgeries were successfully completed.
A team from China operated in this eye camp. The media official further stated that the camp received more public support than initially expected, as 700 people had signed up for the camp when it was first announced. Even though only 571 attended the camp, the media official said that the patients that were not able to attend, can receive services from the eye clinic in the hospital.
The eye clinic that has been established with the help of the Chinese government will open tomorrow.
