The Chinese government is aiding to establish an Ophthalmology (Eye care) Center in Hulhumale’ hospital. The center is expected to open in January 2020.
In a press briefing released on Saturday, Hulhumale' hospital states that on the occasion of the Ophthalmology center opening, they have also decided to conduct a medical camp on eye diseases.
The camp will be conducted jointly by Hulhumale' Hospital and a Chinese medical team. In addition, the hospital claims that during the camp, information will be shared on issues such as cataracts, glaucoma and the negative effects of diabetes on eyes.
The hospital even mentioned that during the camp they will be facilitating prescription glasses to patients.
Moreover, the hospital has asked the community to call their hotline number 1417 to make an appointment for screening. The screening of interested participants is currently on going.
The hospital further revealed that doctors from china will be working at the center that will be established next year.
