Hulhumale’ Hospital stops operating under Aasandha Company

Hulhumale’ Hospital has stopped operating under Aasandha Company.

While confirming the news, the media official of Aasandha company, Ms. Aashiya Solih stated that from today onwards the company will no longer be managing the hospital.

Ms. Aashiya said that the decision was taken by the government, and the company was informed by The President’s Office on 26th December 2019.

Aasandha company first started to operate Hulhumale’ Hospital on April 3rd 2016. The company has spent MVR 193 million on the hospital, and has brought significant changes. One highlight is the treatment facility for cancer that was established.

Previously in 2018, the government handed Hulhumale’ Hospital to the Health ministry. However, Aasandha company continued to manage the hospital until the end of 2019.

The spokesperson of The President’s Office, Mr. Ibrahim Hoodh, declared the government’s decision to handover Hulhumale’ hospital to Male’ Group of Hospitals as cited in “Mihaaru news”. Also, in the future, the government plans to move other hospitals in Male’, Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’ region under same company.
