The Health Ministry of Maldives has come to a decision to permanently close Hithadhoo Regional Hospital located in Addu city.
To finalize this decision, The President’s Office sent an official letter to Health minister Abdulla Ameen.
The letter stated the government’s decision to relocate Hithadhoo Regional Hospital to the recently upgraded tertiary hospital located in Addu equatorial area.
Furthermore, in the letter, the policy secretary of The President’s Office, Ms. Aminath Shauna requested the Health minister to initiate the staff and equipment relocating process.
The government is developing the new 100-bed tertiary hospital, that will be providing laboratory, radiology, CT Scan, X-ray and mammogram services.
