Hithadhoo Regional Hospital located in Addu city are conducting various activities to celebrate their 35th Anniversary.
The hospital was established on 24th November 1984, and celebrates this day each year. On this occasion, the hospital has decided to celebrate their 35th Anniversary throughout the month of November.
While providing information regarding the activities, the health services manager of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, Mr. Sharaf Saadath said that the hospital plans to end this celebration with a grand dinner night, held on the 29th of November. Furthermore, on this night, the hospital will recognize the services of staff members that has worked over the years.
Moreover, he stated that some of the activities that will be held throughout the month includes awareness programs, health education programs, and sports competitions in badminton, football and swimming. Some of these programs will be in association with the community of Hithadhoo.
In addition, Mr. Sharaf said that the community had high hopes for the opening of a tertiary hospital which is being developed in Addu conventional center. However, due to some delays, the project has not been completed yet.
Hithadhoo Regional Hospital will be relocated to the newly formed tertiary hospital once it is completed, according to Mr. Sharaf, and the hospital is in discussions with the government regarding the opening of this new hospital.
