L. Hithadhoo Health center has celebrated their 50th Anniversary in a special ceremony held today.
The President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended the ceremony, along with the Health minister of Maldives, Mr. Abdulla Ameen and other members of the government.
Laamu Hithadhoo health center opened their doors for the first time on 1st December 1969 with only one health assistant. On 9th June 1997, the very first doctor started consultation services in the center.
Hithadhoo health center is now a redeveloped level 3 health center with a laboratory, consultation room and a ward, while providing 24-hour service.
The health center also conducts public health programs, and offer mobile laboratory services by sending samples to nearby Maamendhoo and Kunahandhoo.
