Maldives to host 8th OIC conference

The OIC health ministers welcomed the offer by the Republic of Maldives to host the 8th session of the ICHM in 2021. This was decided during the closing session of 7th ICHM held in Abu Dhabi from 15th to 17th December.

While representing Maldives, Health minister of Maldives Mr. Abdulla Ameen submitted the resolution to increase awareness on the difficulties facing member countries due to anti-vaccine campaigns. The OIC Health ministers and high-level representatives from the Member states, various OIC institutions and international organization attended the meeting that was held under the theme “Quality of Life”.

The ICHM’s seventh session concluded with the adoption of resolutions for healthy lifestyles, prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health emergencies and disasters, mother and child health and nutrition, self-reliance in medicine and vaccine provision and production, advanced medical technologies, strengthening immunization services, addressing vaccine-hesitancy and the OIC-HSPA.
