MFDA recalls “Fizzy Apple” batch after dead insect was found in sealed bottle

MFDA stated that the dead insect was found in the batch B. No 0202 PKD 020819.

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has recalled a batch of “Fizzy Apple”, a drink popular in the Maldivian community, after a dead insect was found in a sealed bottle.

In a press release, MFDA stated that the dead insect was found in the batch B. No 0202 PKD 020819. In addition to recalling the batch, MFDA declared that the authority has decided to take samples from other batches to further investigate regarding the safety of this product to consumers.

MFDA has requested sellers and businesses to discontinue this batch of the product. MFDA has further requested the public to contact the authority during government working hours for further details.

“Fizzy Apple” is a drink which is sold under the brand “Adam’s Mojo fizz”.
