The prime minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi has announced the Indian government’s decision to build a cancer retreatment hospital in the Maldives.
During yesterday’s teleconference held between Mr. Modi and President of Maldives Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, prime minister of India Mr. Modi stated that the Indian government plans to build the Cancer Hospital in Hulhumale’. Moreover Mr. Modi has highlighted the strong relationship between both countries during the past one year.
Previously in an interview with PSM, the India Ambassador to the Maldives Mr. Sunjay Sudhir has said that this 100-bed hospital will be established in reclaimed suburbs of Hulhumale’ under the facility extended by Indian government to the archipelago. While the hospital will specialize in cancer treatment, the most modern sources will be available at the hospital, said Ambassador Sudheer.
Indian government has signed four more agreements with the Maldivian government yesterday. These agreements include, building a “Fish plant” in 3 regions of Addu city, introducing Rupay card, converting road lights to LED lights in Male city and the donation of a sea vessel to Maldives coastguard.
