Lh. Atoll hospital located at Lh. Naifaru has begun preparations for paramedic ambulance services, after the government of Maldives provided a paramedic ambulance to the hospital.
Paramedics is a specialist healthcare professional who responds to emergency calls for medical help outside of hospital.
Speaking to Doctor.mv, the health service manager of Lh. Atoll hospital, Jaufar Abdullah said that with this paramedic ambulance, Lh. Hospital will have a total of two ambulances. However, as the new ambulance is a paramedic ambulance, the hospital needs to be fully prepared to commence the service, added Jaufar.
As a first step, the hospital will give special training to nurses and drivers that will be operating in this service. Jaufar highlighted this as a personal achievement for the staff of the hospital
Moreover, Jaufar stated that many people from neighboring atolls visit Naifaru hospital every day. And as the new government policy includes developing a tertiary hospital in Naifaru, the people of this atoll are eagerly waiting for the opening day.
