MNU announces health forum to be held tonight

The Maldives National University (MNU) is conducting A health forum named “How healthy are you?” will be held tonight.

This forum is part of the regular “Ilmee fovahi” public forums that are held by the university. This time, the forum is presented by the School of Medicine, and will be held at MNU’s faculty of education auditorium from 8:00-9:30 PM.

The forum, which is open to the public, will include a panel of health professionals. The panel consists of Dr. Sheeza Ali, Dr Shaistha Zubair, Dr. Aminath Huda and Dr. Ibrahim Iyaz.

Speaking to Doctor.mv, the Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Sheeza Ali stated that the aim of the forum is to answer the question “How healthy are you?”.

“The public can participate in basic screening tests from 8:00 onwards, and the panel will start discussing the key points that each individual must focus on based on their results at 8:30”, said Dr. Sheeza.

The screening tests that will be available to the public for free include, checking Body Mass Index (BMI), blood sugar level, blood pressure and evaluating the risk for heart diseases.
