HA. Utheemu Health center has started the service of transferring laboratory samples to the atoll’s Atoll hospital located in HA. Dhidhoo.
Utheemu health center’s community health officer Ms. Shahudha Abdullah Ali states that a ceremony was held last night to mark the beginning of this service. The ceremony was inaugurated by HA. Baarashu constituency member Mr. Ahmed Abdullah.
Speaking about the introduction of this service, Ms. Shahudha said that the Utheemu heatlh center does not have a laboratory established, and there were no transferring services available. As a result, the people of Utheemu have to travel HA. Atoll hospital located in HA. Dhidhoo.
In the last month, 4 islands of L. atoll have also begun mobile laboratory services. These islands are L. Kunahandhoo, L. Dhanbidhoo, L. Mundoo and L. Maamendhoo. The introduction of this service in the 4 islands are expected to benefit more than 3500 people (read more).
