Laryngeal cancer is a disease where cancer cells form in the tissues of the larynx (voice box). Some symptoms of the disease include sore throat and ear pain.

Tracheal cancer, however, is rare. Some symptoms include coughing up blood, hoarse voice, difficulty swallowing and breathlessness.

Tests that examine the throat and neck are used to detect, diagnose and stage these types of cancers. These tests include CT or MRI scan, and a biopsy.

After the removal of tumor, patient normally undergoes radiotherapy. This helps reduce the risk of the cancer coming back.
