The NGO, Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) received MVR 60,000 as a donation from the Bank of Maldives (BML) today.
During the ceremony held at BML Head office, the donation was handed over by the C.E.O and Managing Director of BML, Mr. Timothy Sawyer, on behalf of BML and their employees.
ARC revealed that the funds received from BML, for their “Shelter support program” will be utilized to conduct activities at Kudakudhinge hiya during this school holiday.
In addition, ARC has highlighted that the funds they received from “wow kidz run” is being used for their RESPECT campaign focused on anti-bullying. The activities in this campaign includes developing IEC materials like posters, video clips, audio clips on the four different types of bullying; physical bullying, emotional bullying, social bullying and cyberbullying.
Furthermore, ARC states that in partnership with Kurumba Maldives, they are currently conducting activities, such as computer classes, art classes and swimming lessons for children at Fiyavathi orphanage.
