Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital Health minister Abdulla AmeenKulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital will become the biggest hospital in the Northern region of Maldives, according to the Health Minister Abdulla Ameen.
Minister Ameen said this while answering a question from parliament member Yasir Abdul Latheef, in today’s People’s Majlis.
In addition, the Minister also said that the process of converting the hospital into a tertiary hospital will begin in December, and the tasks are being handled by the necessary parties.
“The work needed for the current building will begin on the 5th of December” said Minister Ameen.
Furthermore, to provide MRI and Mammography services through the hospital, the government has also finalized the agreements required. Yet, the works for bigger changes such as a ventilator for the hospital will begin in the month of December, according to Minister Ameen.
With the start of CT scan services in Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, the Minister has highlighted that the number of people coming to capital Male’ from the Kulhudhuffushi and nearby islands has decreased by 60%.
