Frozen Raspberries recalled for Norovirus Fears – FDA

Frozen Raspberries that was contaminated with Norovirus has been imported to the Maldives, says Maldives Food and Drug Authority.

In a press statement released by the authority, Norovirus contamination of Himbeeren Frozen Rasberries and the importation of this product was first alerted to the FDA by Europe’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).

In response to this alert, the authority is now working to locate these products and recall them. According to the authority, the frozen raspberries were distributed only to resorts.

Norovirus is highly contagious and symptoms include Vomiting, watery Diarrhea with Abdominal pain, Fever, Loss of appetite and Headaches.

FDA advises not to continue the importation, selling and consumption of Himbeeren Frozen Raspberries. Moreover, they advise to be more precautious when importing frozen raspberries, and to only import, sell and consume trusted brands.
