HA. Atoll Hospital located in HA. Dhidhoo has admitted their first patient to their Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The ICU services in this hospital officially began on the 31st of October 2019. According to Usman Ashraf who is managing the hospital, the patient has been recovering well.
He further said that even though the ICU was established one month earlier, the delay occurred due to no physicians being available. However, with the help of the Health Ministry, a physician has been employed. Moreover, equipment needed for the ICU has also been provided.
Some of the services that patients will be able to receive from the ICU include Ventilators, Defibrillator and oxygen suppliers.
HA. Atoll Hospital provides service 24 hours a day, and the hospital also has an established Operation Theater for both minor and major surgeries.
Usman Ashraf said that the Anesthesiologist and Dentist working in the hospital is on leave at the moment. And since the December circumcision season is on the way, the hospital is working to find an Anesthesiologist.
While talking to Doctor.mv, a nurse working in the hospital said that the availability of ICU services is a huge leap of progress to the hospital, and that this is a dream come true for the people of HA. Atoll.
